Making it up as I go along

By Duncan Mountford 2017
This site-specific installation began with the idea of producing a work without any detailed forward planning (in contrast to the previous and subsequent projects that involve a great degree of planning, drawing, surveying, etc.). A variety materials were shipped to the site (a gallery in the process of being fitted-out) and a week-long process of playing resulted in a work of frames that divided the space, and lenses that used the orientation of the gallery to produce a series of projected images of the environment outside the gallery.
