Mapping Sunday Lunch

By  Sally Curzon 2023

Ash, Charcoal, Milk on Paper

This drawing maps the making of Sunday lunch one afternoon. It plots on paper, in ash and charcoal, the energy used to move around the kitchen, prepare, cook, and serve the food. The making was carried out bare-footed, over several hours.  The ash is from a domestic wood burner in Stroud and from a wood burner in a walkers’ cottage in the Lake District.  It is fixed using milk and water.
