Marginal spaces

By  Chris Wright 2016
As part of a larger, ongoing project that looks at lay-bys as transitional spaces, I am currently exploring roadside verges and, in particular, roadkill. Dressing the animals in baby/dolls' clothes, I want to highlight the space as not only the margins between vehicle and pedestrian, road surface and field for example, but also one of life and death. Anthropomorphising the animals brings into focus the general antipathy about needless killing of wildlife often due to carelessness. The image is a beginning of is part of the project where the difficulties have become apparent.
