Material 1, 2, 3

These pieces were developed through an investigation  of materials and their value. I am allowing materials to demonstrate their inherent qualities.  My work is developed through an interest in  the industrial remnants and industy on Halkyn Mountain. I use the colours of rusty metal and stone , calcification and natural transformation. The tactile qualities of ancient materials such as charcoal and pigment are used in these pieces. Gravity and the process of making is suggested with falling charcoal and pigment piled beneath the paintings.
