Memory Keeper

When I collected my mother’s ashes I decided I wanted to keep them and not lose them to the winds and the earth.
She said of her grandchildren that they “made her heart swell”. Each of them has a cast glass house with her ashes combined, which they can take with them wherever they go in the world. I have mine too.
The houses are for keeping.
A favourite colour which lights up when the sun shines through it. A name engraved. A poem. For keeping.
