Millennium Kilt

By Jilli Blackwood 2006

Dimensions
50cm x 140cm

January 1990 I had the idea for this work which was inspired by the Mao Hill tribe kilted skirt. The idea remained with me for almost a decade, on the eve of the new millennium December 1999 I began to create this show stopping piece. All the materials are hand dyed. I am mixing between machine and hand embroidery.
