Mother & Child

This is a two part, large-scale work. The two separate yet connected pieces suggest both an intimacy yet certain independence between the sleeping child under the duvet and the pregnant form of the female body. The work draws on the material experience of the maternal state as opposed to the idealised, spiritualised motif often portrayed within the sculptural tradition.
