My Addiction

My Addiction was a performance that took place on 17th August 2013 in Llandudno, North Wales. Llandudno is a holiday destination and the promenade consistently plays host to the over consumption of sugary treats like ice cream by holidaymakers. Tyson’s grandfather and his brother both died of type1 diabetes. This has overshadowed her entire life and she feels a lot of anxiety about sugar, which is particularly difficult as by her own admission she is thoroughly addicted to it. The performance took one hour and the seventeen sugar outlines (the number or people estimated to develop the disease every hour) were left to the environment; the sugar was very quickly washed away by rainfall soon after.
