my father's footsteps, 2001

By  Pen Dalton 2004
part of a print Installation for PhD. family relations in art [see cv] The big stepladder seems to be in a protective relation to the little ladder - like a father is with his daughter. The pattern of the anaglypta wall paper falls on both ladders and in an analogous relation, we shared the same practice: my father was a printer in the newspaper industry and i became a printmaker in an art school. The same but in very different contexts.
