'My Feet in Earth' FMD commemorative bell, Highampton, Devon

'My Feet In Earth' was a community project I initiated. I felt very strongly that this parish had been profoundly affected by the FMD epidemic and we needed to mark and remember both the trauma and the fellowship that was shared, as neighbour looked after neighbour during this time. The bell was cast at Whitechapel Bell Foundry, but raised by the whole community. The bell carries the inscription: My Feet in Earth My Mouth in Sky My song is soft appeal To bring home flock and herd.
