Ness of Brodgar Artist's Residency 2016 to date

An ongoing annual artist's residency on the Ness of Brodgar Neolithic excavations in Orkney. Each year sketchbook drawings and plein air paintings are made, alongside recordings of conversations and ambient sounds, plus written reflections. Outcomes to date: Book - Ness of Brodgar Sketchbook 2016 Film - 'Drawing Archaeology' combining drawings, watercolours and sound recordings made on site An annual blog on the a-n website at https://www.a-n.co.uk/blogs/ness-of-brodgar-artists-residency. A second film is in production. 2024 will be the last year of excavation, when the Ness of Brodgar, and this residency, will move on to post excavation work.
