Nowheres is a collection of landscape drawings which have been influenced by and had an influence on text written by Poet and Writer, Tamar Yoseloff ( http://tamaryoseloff.com/ ) The images represent man made constructions in the context of nature, in some cases barely evident and in others, overwhelmingly so.
Sometimes the images provide places for a character to inhabit, sometimes they are a starting point for poetic reflection. They are not illustrations but reflect something of the environment described in the texts. Each text and each image is discrete and self contained, but also shares common ground with the others.
The notion of environment here is wide ranging; a spatial landscape; a scrubland, as in AL-151; a natural form in its immediate surroundings, as in Torquay Palm; or a historical document, as in the ruins of Bolus Head. The drawings are presented as fragments rather than traditionally-framed landscapes. This reflects the continuing and open ended narrative contained in the texts.
