One Hundred Years of Plasticine

This is one of three works made in response to having access to selected iron objects from Falkirk Community Trust’s extensive archive which covers example industry castings and patterns, foundry tools and equipment as well as related written, printed and photographic documentation from the long history of mining and ironworking in the area. The three new works produced for this exhibition: Seam; One Hundred Years of Plasticine; Occultations in Regulus also combine ideas of stasis, material relationships and geological processes and timescales. It is shown as part of Iron: Actions and Artefacts exhibition at The Park Gallery, Callendar House, Falkirk also featuring other individual and collaborative work with sculptor Gordon Munro.
