Only echoes

2023. Letterpress on antique postcards. Each 89 x 140mm. In February 2023, I was awarded a bursary from a-n for a 6-month period of professional development at The Curwen to develop my understanding of printmaking and learn new methods. Since starting the project, I have rediscovered my collection of antique postcards and have used the found objects as a point of departure for an ongoing series of interactions between text and image through the introduction of Letterpress. For me, the weathered images capture a sense of nostalgia and transience, offering potential for dialogue, juxtaposition, and escape through language.
