Open Door

By  Theresa Easton 2018 - 2019
Between February 2018 and September 2019, I worked with Museums Northumberland bait with the resettlement team at Northumberland County Council to devliver Open Door, an arts project for refugees who had recently resettled in South East Northumberland. The project welcomed more than 60 people aged 1-65 to fortnightly sessions in Cramlington and Blyth. As one of the artists working with the families, the project concluded with a group exhibition where I was commissioned to make work that responded to the memories and experiences of the families in transition. Printmaking featured strongly in the sessions I delivered with the families and is reflected in the work I produced.
