Parterre was a six week long research residency undertaken by the artist in 2004 at the Charles Darwin University, Northern Territory, Australia. The residency was part of the artist project HERE AND THERE and was instrumental in the development of the artist understanding of identity formation through making as a performative act of resistance. Darwin and the region are well known for its vibrant Aboriginal art.
