By  Douglas Clark 2008

Dimensions
400cm x 150cm x 150cm

The last in a series investigating 'infrasound'. Positioned just above the river, the tubes amplify three different frequencies sound in the three tubes. Because it's infrasound we cannot hear it and so will remain unaware as to whether it is working or not although it could work. This was not the primary consideration. The final outcome of the work is the 'form' the construction has to take due to its original function and to its relational positioning to the surroundings. It is not the function itself. Because of the quasi-scientific function of the original concept, the piece is made of basic industrial materials.
