Permanent Blow

Rosie Leventon

A commission for the chancel of St Johns church, now the 20/21 Art Centre in Scunthorpe. The wide shallow open spherical shape is made from woven steel cable and aluminium.. Various particles have fallen into the interior, - human hair cherry stones and steel scourers. Some of these may be added to by visitors. The cherry stones were deposited on the church roof by hundreds of birds and the steel swarfe came from the now defunct Corus steel mill nearby.
