Picture This

Picture This was a community engagement, history and photography project which celebrated the history of shops, shopping and local small businesses in the five villages of Abram, Bamfurlong, Bickershaw, Platt Bridge and Spring View (in Wigan). A textile window hanging based on the histories and memories collected was created by artists Helen Mather and Cath Long. The other elements of the project included the co-design of a community-led vision for the Community Green in Platt Bridge and community-led economic development activities and development of a Neighbourhood Plan. Picture This was a partnership project with community organisation Abram Ward Community Cooperative and was funded by Power to Change.
