"Please Write Me" is a collaboration between myself and artist Kate Illes. These tracks are provide a contextural soundworld for the wall mounted artwork that she created for her MA degree show. I have recorded, sampled and mixed the audio & soundscapes to compose the tracks which were jointly concieved by myself and Kate. Below is a link to the tracks on Sound Cloud -

The audio device was encased in a box with motion sensors and the tracks played when a person approached the wall mounted Montage of objects from the suitcase. Images of the work can be found here -

Kate and I collaborated on the sound design and concept of how the sound should be integrated into the artwork.
She summarises her work 'Please Write Me' here: ' The contents of a discovered suitcase cannot present a complete narrative of a life, instead, the focus lies on the delicate, fragmented nature of a personal archive, the snapshots and vignettes contained within. The gaps in information, unanswered letters, and unseen details provoke contemplation and inquiry for the viewer. With much of Popsy's life represented as blank spaces between correspondences, it is imperative for us to approach the material with a sense of respectful curiosity rather than projecting a bias.

By embracing the "Concept of Curiosity" as proposed by Cecchin (1987), we guard against premature certainty and deepen our understanding of the complexities within the narrative.'

Actor Kay Sanford is the voice of Popsy, so many thanks to her for reading the excerpts chosen by Kate of letters, found in the suitcase, written by Popsy to her mother.
