Pollen of Words

By  Sabine Jeanne Bieli 1998 - 2006

Wayne Wolton

Words typed on plastic film form a ball-shaped structure similar to the seeds of a faded dandelion, fixed to a criss-cross of threads stretched between ceiling and floor. The words in this sculpture stem from everyday conversation and from the poetry and prose of writers such as Rose Auslnder, Erich Fried, Jean Gebser and Max Frisch. Removed from their original context, they interact with each other and with the mind of the onlooker. Language and words are vehicles of human consciousness. They are immaterial realities. In the minds of humans they may turn into seeds or grenades. This sculpture of words changes shape each time it is installed. New words are added and older words removed.
