Combining cartography with an elevated perspective, the scale I have used to map back the landscape onto the canvas creates a sense of place that is anamorphic and unfamiliar. New and contorted views emerge where the viewer becomes simultaneously above and within and the identity of the place becomes embedded within the painted surface and is subsequently revealed and explored through it's surface of line and colour.
