A cropped section of a scene in a photograph taken by my grandmother in 1930s South Africa: prisoners working in a school grounds with my uncle whose leg is in an iron as a result of polio. The panel is part of the assemblage 'A Painted Album' based on photographs of a South African background during the apartheid years.
