Protection #1,2,3

By  Bev Broadhead 2018
Series of three landscape paintings that challenge the distance between viewer and the work. Close up the nature of the paint and surface suggest looking through undergrowth; seen from a distance, these are landscapes typical of the North Norfolk coastal region. Responding to curator Caroline Fisher’s brief for Cley 18, ‘The greater the distance the clearer the view’ W G Sebald’s words from Rings of Saturn I worked at Cley Visitor Centre using powerful binoculars to observe bird life on the marshes for a period of time, painting from sketches. http://www.cleycontemporaryart.org/
