Re-take, Re-invent is a group exhibition featuring 15 artists responding to works of art currently held at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum of Wales. The artists have been interpreting their chosen art work from the critical standpoint of current studio practice leading to new ideas and connections creating fascinating journeys of discovery as each finds different ways to connect with content and meaning. Re-take, Re-invent has been taking place over two years allowing an extended time to focus on the process of making and will highlight sketches, studies and work books as well as finished art works. The project has included interviews, schools projects and contributions to a group journal with commissioned photographs by Graham Hembrough of the artists and studios all tracking the process of making new art from the past. Re-take, Re-invent will feature in three venues simultaneously across the region and has been supported by the Arts Council of Wales. Project devised by Andrew Smith.
