Rendez-vous aux jardins 2019

Organised by the Minister for Culture the theme for "Rendez-vous aux jardins" this year is the "Animals in the garden" The creation of the garden Cairnhill is a long term project which was started in 2009. Cairnhill is situated in the rural surroundings in the south Charente area of France. It contains a orchard of grafted fruit trees of old varieties specific to the region and is a designated refuge for birds and wildlife under the Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux. There are 8 hives in the garden and the planting is focused on creating the best environment for both insects and birds.
