Rhizo Insecta Paves 2

I walked with my children along the same routes to and from school for eight years. Manhole covers, cracks in the pavement, petals, leaves and other materials I came across on these and other walks inspired me to create a body of work called the Pavement Works Collection. Started in 1998, to date the collection consists of over twenty works in eight categories. Information cards are displayed alongside the works to inform the Collection. Rhizo Insecta Paves 2 is part of the Cracks and Gaps category. The information card records that Rhizo Insecta Paves 2 is a facsimile of an intricate crack found in one of Worthing's pavements. There follows a list of materials used: felted human hair, plaited & bound human hair in an hand made box. human hair, handmade box
