Rights Issue

By Janet Sang 2017
Screen print (fifteen colours) This is one of several recent prints which the artist thinks of as contemporary landscapes revealing and critiquing socio-economic relations. In Rights Issue, shifting images of distant figures fill the monitor screens on a trading-floor. In this metaphorical landscape and in its title, which is taken from the lexicon of financial dealings, global capitalism stands accused of indifference and of culpability for human and environmental tragedies. Printed by the artist at Volcanic Editions, Brighton on Fabriano Artistico 640gsm Edition of ten
