One of a series of small acrylic on board paintings using pigment and modelling paste applied by trowel to physically embody colour in compacted layers that build a flat matt surface. Brushwork establishes a tooth for this surface but is only visible on the sides of each board. The composition of each work is uniform and asymmetrical but colour and tonal outcomes are unique and have a presence akin to some minimal sculptural objects.
