Seurat's Shorts

A work based on the 19th century painting by the French painter Georges Seurat - The Bathers at Asnieres. One of my very favourite paintings when i was a young art student, and still very much a perennial source of fascination for me, always suggesting that there is more to it than meets the eye.
The location for the sculpture recalled this painting, My work, a homage to Seurat, is a recreation of the red shorts worn by the young man sitting at the edge of the water.
Location: Courtonne-la-Meurdrac, Normandy, France.
