Shaft

Shaft is a large scale, site specific, environmental piece which refers specifically to the historical context of the Demense. The piece plays with the space, scale and light of the forest environment where it is located. Shaft creates a passage through the foliage to link the space above the trees with the space below as well as referring to the mining history of the town.
