Shi

Minimalist fabric and paper collage from a series having broad allusions to Oriental and Zen philosophy. Whilst making these images, I was conscious of the traditions of Oriental calligraphy and mark-making and whilst resisting figurative, narrative or mythical references, I was nonetheless, striving to achieve a simple synthesis of form and colour that reflected and respected those traditions.
