Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion (installation view)

By James Reynolds 2016 - 2017
Ongoing project investigating painting in the expanded field using objects common to domesticity and the home. The work references memories, rules, strictures of the past that contradicted one an another and created a false sense of security. 'Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion' was commonly used to establish some kind of order where there wasn't really the opportunity for any.
