St.Ann's Meadow Project

By Ginny Reed 2016 - 2025

St. Ann's Meadow Project 2015-present. I established an urban meadow opposite my previous address, 10 minutes from Newcastle city centre, where a community hut once stood. I sowed native wild flowers found in the North East; including Devils Bit Scabious, Black Medick, and Birds Foot Trefoil. Field Grasshopper, Burnet Moth, Meadow Brown, Small Copper & Common Skipper butterflies, not to mention numerous Bees, all frequent the space. The meadow is recognised for its contribution to Biodiversity in the Ouseburn by Newcastle City Council.
