Stitch conversations (still)

By  Brenda Miller 2017
In September Walcot Chapel, Bath (12-18 September 2016), became a studio and the film considers how we became a performative group within the space. This is a document of an ongoing project with the artists meeting regularly to continue thinking about why we stitch. The quiet contemplative space of Walcot Chapel in warm September weather provided a calm space to work together. As a result, the work rather than the conversations took over the focus for the project. Each artist responding in different ways to use the space, creating new work, developing existing work in a mutually supporting environment and sharing our thoughts and practice. This resulted in developing our understanding of each person’s practice over an extended time period.
