Swaddling

Deborah Gardner

Dimensions
63cm x 71cm x 130cm

This outdoor sculpture is part of a series of works that explores relations between sleep and sculpture. The form is cast with a deliberately ambiguous form beneath, which suggests infant child or other small creature. The wax speaks about the body and allows the surface to seem more alive and breathing.
