Tailored Solutions (`Polka Dot Beach')

By  Bob Budd 2010
An intervention of circles of flour made for the B-Side Multi Media Arts Festival, imaging the beach as a piece of `polka dot' cloth These works came about after I had met an old local tailor - I was originally attracted by his shop, which looked as if it had come from an earlier age. It seemed he had moved down to Portland from Manchester because of his love of the sea and for sailing. My works were an attempt to bring together two very different themes – tailoring and the beach/sea. I started by imagining the beach as the tailor’s work table………..
