Tales of Miles Platting

By Sarah Spanton 2016 - 2018

Sarah Spanton & Martina Magill

The Tales of Miles Platting creative workshop programme, book and celebratory event tackled social isolation in older people, raised awareness of the fragility of local community infrastructure and gave voice to hidden histories, memories and stories of people living in Miles Platting. This place based creative programme was a 2-year collaboration with Miles Platting Age-Friendly Neighbourhoods Board Legacy Project, funded by Manchester Metropolitan University as part of an age-friendly neighbourhoods programme. The Tales of Miles Platting book was a community collaboration with artist Sharon Campbell, writer Alan Keogh and Sarah Spanton.
