"The Chrome Vernacular"

The final work in the vehicle series, completed in 2009. I worked on this series over a number of years.  In these paintings the logic of the diagram and x ray meets the apparent immediacy of action painting, each mark was a hand painted Copy from a photographic projection. Each mark is freighted with slow craftwork rather than the rhetoric of expressive immediacy.
