The fourth of July

This piece was inspired by colour. It's a play of three different weighted silks which have been hand-dyed to create the unique colour combination. These fabrics are encrusted with machine embroidery, braided, frayed and cut to create a relief surface which appears delicate and soft but is extremely hard-wearing and robust.
