I climbed over the gate into the UN ‘Safe Compound’ at Potocari near Srebrenica where thousands had died. That night I dreamt of gates in Treblinka and of the gates dividing the Falls Road from the Shanklin Road…and now Gaza…
This painting was developed from memory and from sketches I made on the spot.
