The Golden Palace

The Golden Palace was created for the Beyond Boundaries exhibition and looks at the power of the medieval church and the rules and regulations that guided and controlled its followers. The religious leaders/guiders subtly act out the seven deadly sins however, the main sin greed is The Golden Palace itself and covered in gold, jewels, keys and other ornate objects such as candlesticks and chalices that mocks and questions the necessities of these luxurious objects for the institution and worship. The overall work was inspired by medieval art particularly the Renaissance altarpieces at the V&A with the aim of the three-dimensional work mirroring the museum’s own carved pieces. The limited edition of 7 is available in both three and two dimensional. Price is for a mounted print.
