The Interview

This piece was made approximately one hour after my interview for the PGCHE: ADAM course at Norwich University of the Arts. Filled with adrenaline, I set about composing shapes and characters that conveyed a sense of confusion and misunderstanding. As an artist that relies on typography and text to exhibit semantics within my works (though not often easily translated), I found myself very much at a crossroads where language failed me. This was one of the first instances in which the use of long connecting lines were present in my designs; from this creation this attribute found itself contributing more to the structure and composition of later designs. The linear nature breaking down the concrete familiar type-forms, and re-producing more fluid interpretations of the works.
