I made this early charcoal drawing after an artist friend and his girl friend emigrated to New Zealand in 1978. I saw them off at the station.

In May 2022 the UN Refugee Agency stated that the global number of displaced people has passed 100 million for the first time. With global warming, conflict, and the shocking recent attack on international law this can only get worse.
