The Light Pours In

By  K J Pocock 2019
Imagined construction. This may, or may not be, about my adopted city Manchester, England. I'm not sure. IMAGINED CONSTRUCTIONS As an architectural student it was normal for me to design, draw and model a building that I knew would never be built in reality. Later as an architect it also became normal to design, draw and model a building that was intended to be built but never was - for whatever reason. They were all ideas that were intentionally or unintentionally never built. Most ideas for buildings and schemes are never built. Designs for un-built constructions have been produced for hundreds of years, from ink and wash drawings to the computer renders we have today. Fantasy buildings, structures and projects - or imagined constructions - only ever existed in forms other than the real built form.
