The naming of places "Rossignol Crescent"

By  Joss Burke 2014
"Rossignol Crescent" is a street sign made to United Kingdom specifications and situated in a particular location in Cairnhill garden. The French name Rossignol means Nightingale in English. The Rossignol family lived in Rioux-Martin and the hamlet of Chez Bariot before, during and after the occupation of the Germans in the Second World War. Members of the family are buried in the church of Rioux-Martin whose spire can be seen from Cairnhill.
