In July 1995 the Bosnian Serbs attacked the UN 'safe haven' of Srebrenica. Over 20,000 Muslims fled in terror over the mountains to Tuzla 40 miles away. Many were ambushed and slaughtered. This trail has become known as 'The Trail of Tears'.
