The Unknown Artist

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Crouch End Open Studios I am exhibiting this installation of '’The Unknown Artist' . It is my reflection on the years I have spent as a founder and organiser/curator of the Crouch End Open Studios. As a part of the installation I have set up an ongoing digital/social media identity of The Unknown Artist. It was inspired by the photograph of an artist of the largely forgotten ‘East London Group’ - Albert Turpin , in his studio. I found the photograph in the book ‘From Bow to Biennale’ by David Buckman . I am also celebrating the exhibition of over seventy paintings and archival material of the the East London Group which opens on May 9th 2014 at the Nunnery Gallery, Bow Arts Centre. see www.crouchendopenstudios.co.uk
