Time and Tide

Time and Tide Caryl Beach Cathy Smale Caryl Beach and Cathy Smale have been brought together in this collaboration through their love of seascapes and a fascination of the beach pebbles found on our shores worn away over millions of years each unique, from their journey over time and tide. Caryl works in video, photography and mixed media: “The transient nature of landscape and its diversity has fed into my practice producing journeys recorded in video, mixed media impressions of experiences, photographic snapshots that cannot capture but a hint of the sublime nature of landscape and the sea that encompasses it. The pebble represents a journey through the action of wind, sun, water, gravity and many other forces of nature that have continued to shape it through time.”
