This work films the border crossing between Italy and Switzerland and back through train windows using a mobile phone. The border is indiscernible except for, firstly a phone message stating that the network has changed and, sometime between the stations of Chiasso and Mendrisio (to Switzerland), an announcement about document validity and forbidden goods. No-one checks! The landscape is continuous, people pass freely, the border is irrelevant except on the map, drawn by past political situations. The Schengen agreement allows this free passage between European countries that is now denied to the British people. There is no discernability at this point, it is the hinterland of the border where changes are slow.
